New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki is going to give gifts to the customers on Janmashtami. The company is going to bring a new avatar of its Alto (Maruti Alto 2022) on August 18. This has been the company’s best selling hatchback, which is going to get a new look and features after years. It is the only car in India to rule the hearts of customers for almost two decades, with total sales of more than 4 million.
Better mileage with new engine
Maruti Suzuki is going to launch its new Alto with new engine options and better mileage. It will bring back the 1-litre petrol engine and an automatic manual transmission (AMT) option. Here we are going to explain you the details related to the car in 5 points.

1. Look: Some pictures of the new Alto have been leaked. As per the images, the car will come with steel rims and will get black colored ORVMs along with body-coloured door handles. The new Alto is expected to measure 3,530 mm in length, 1,490 mm in width and 1,520 mm in height.
2. Engine: Talking about the engine, a 1 liter petrol engine can be given in the new Alto. This engine will replace the current 800 cc motor. The new engine can give power of 66 bhp and torque of 8 Nm. The engine can be mated to a five-speed manual transmission unit. It is being said that the new Alto will also give better mileage.
3. Variants: The new Maruti Suzuki Alto can come in seven variants. These include the STD, LXi, LXi (O), VXi, VXi (O), VXi+ and VXi+ (O).

4. Features: The new Maruti Alto will get parking sensors, dual airbags, cameras, high-speed alert, seatbelt reminder and child seat anchors.
5. Expected Price: The Alto has been the cheapest hatchback from the company. Currently, its price starts at Rs 3.39 lakh (ex-showroom). It is believed that the Alto with a new look and new features can be brought at an initial price of Rs 4 lakh.
