WATCH | Indian-Origin Man In Canada Fired From Job For Availing ‘Free Food’

In Canada, an Indian-origin man faced backlash for receiving free food meant for students despite having a high-paying job. Social media claims linked him to TD Bank with an average salary of $98,000, alleging his termination over the video. His family denied the accusations, stating he was a student with a past internship.

A man of Indian descent residing in Canada faced backlash after a video surfaced showing him receiving free food from Canadian food banks designated for students. The video quickly spread across social media platforms, with some users criticizing Mehul Prajpati for accepting free food despite holding a well-paying job.

A social media user who shared the video alleged that Prajapati was employed at a renowned Canadian firm, TD Bank, where the average annual salary reportedly amounted to $98,000. In a subsequent post, the same user claimed that Prajapati had been terminated from his position at the firm due to the video.

However, members of Prajapati’s family refuted these claims, asserting that he was a student without any employment. They clarified that he had only completed an internship with the firm, which concluded in December of the previous year.

The firm’s response to the social media post stated: “Thank you for bringing the video to our attention. The alleged actions and messages depicted in the video do not reflect TD values or our culture of care. I can confirm that the individual mentioned in the video is no longer employed at TD.” Notably, the response did not specify that Prajapati was terminated as a result of the video.
