New Delhi:  The recent earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria has been a disaster. It has resulted in loss of lives and properties of the citizens of these nations. Among the many mishaps faced by the individuals, a story of courage has emerged from ground zero. A girl in Syria fought with death to save her younger brother. The picture of the incident is going viral on various social media platforms. Meanwhile, heart-wrenching pictures continue to emerge from Turkey and Syria after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake.

Stuck under for 17 hours 

The earthquake killed more than 7,800 people in both countries and injured thousands more. Rescue teams are working hard to save people trapped under the debris. A picture of a 7-year-old girl protecting her younger brother is going viral on social media. It is seen in the photo that the girl along with her younger brother is trapped in the debris. She is seen keeping her hand on her brother’s head to protect him. The roof wall has fallen on top of it. She remained in this condition for 17 hours.

Sister saved brother

This picture was shared by United Nations (UN) representative Mohammad Safa on Twitter. He wrote, ‘The 7-year-old girl who kept her hand on her little brother’s head to protect him while he was under the debris for 17 hours has been made safe. I don’t see anyone sharing. If she had died, everyone would have shared! Share the positivity.’

People are praising the girl’s courage

The rescue team pulled out both the girl and her brother safely. Both are fine now. People are getting emotional seeing this picture on social media. Sending love and blessings to both the kids wishing them a long and healthy life. A user tweeted, ‘What a courageous child! Can you imagine 17 hours trapped under the rubble for an adult, much less a child? And to protect her brother all that time!’
