Jack Dorsey quits Instagram

Jack Dorsey: Twitter founder and former CEO of the micro-blogging platform Jack Dorsey bid farewell to Mark Zuckerberg’s owned Instagram. Dorsey announced his decision on X, saying deleted his Instagram account and became “meta-free”.

“deleted my Instagram account after 12 years. was one of the first 10 accounts I believe, and one of the first angel investors. who will they give the @jack handle to?” tweeted Jack.

Dorsey’s decision caught the attention of the platform owner Elon Musk, who responded with a fire emoji in the comments section. Many users questioned whether Mr. Dorsey would continue on Elon Musk’s owned platform.

Earlier in 2020, Dorsey informed that he would no longer use Facebook products and take a “different approach” to Mr. Zuckerberg. The Twitter founder talked the same on Rich Clayman’s podcast ‘The Boardroom: Out of Office’.

He said, “I don’t really use Instagram. I love what Snapchat has built around it, I think they’re phenomenal. I don’t use many Facebook products. There really aren’t any.”

In July, after Meta launched threads, Dorsey criticized Zuckerberg when the latter sent a connection request to follow him on the new platform. Dorsey posted a screenshot of the same on Twitter.
