New Delhi: The White House on Thursday claimed to have found new evidence, which confirms Russia’s intention to buy weaponary from North Korea to fuel the war against Ukraine.

The trade will take place in exchange of food supplies to Pyongyang along with other commodities. White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby during a virtual press conference alleged that North Korea is looking forward to make potential arms deal through a Slovakian arms dealer, identified as Ashot Mkrtychev, reports Yonhap News Agency.

This has concerned global leaders considering that North Korea may further its support to Russia to continue its 13-months-old war.

Russia whose imports as well as exports have been sanctioned is desperate, which made it turn to “rouge” nations who can help continue the war.

Kirby said as per the deal, Russia will receieve over two dozen kinds of weapons and munitions from Pyongyang.

Earlier, the administration had found out through intelligence that Iran traded over hundreds of attack drones with Russia over the summer. Along with that a private Russian military company called the Wagner Group has taken delivery of arms from North Korea to foster the war.

As political experts beleives there is a imminent famine in North Korea under the 11-year-rule of Kim Jong Un, but the latter refuses to admit. Earlier this month, the North Korea media reports said that Kim Jong Un annouced to focus on strengthening state control over agriculture.
