Members of the Indian diaspora on Friday held a protest outside the Pakistan High Commission in London. As they condemned the recent Pahalgam Terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, 2025, a senior official of the Pakistan Army was caught on camera making slit-throating gestures towards the protestors.
In the now-viral clip, Colonel Taimur Rahat, Pakistan Army and Air Advisor in the High Commission in the UK, was seen making the threatening gesture by showing a poster of Captain Abhinandan Varthaman. The photo was captioned as “Chai is Fantastic.” Meanwhile, many Pakistani embassy officials were even spotted dancing and celebrating in front of the Indian community protestors.

Shameful Act To Insult Indians!
This act by Colonel Taimur Rahat was an attempt to provoke and insult Indians. According to reports, more than 500 British Hindus gathered outside the Pakistan Embassy in London. They were seen holding Indian flags, banners, and placards. Meanwhile, the demonstrators also expressed deep sorrow over the brutal killing of the people, mostly tourists, in J&K. As they demanded justice for the victims, they were heard raising slogans against terrorism and criticising Pakistan for sheltering terrorists.
Captain Abhinandan Vardhaman – A Brave Pilot
The shameful act by the senior Pakistani officials was recorded by some of the Indian students present at this protest. Notably, Captain Abhinandan Vardhaman is a brave fighter pilot of the Indian Air Force, who was actively involved in the Balakot airstrike after the Pulwama attack. He shot down the Pakistani fighter plane.
On 27 February 2019, Abhinandan Vardhaman was held captive by the Pakistan Army after his plane was shot down by the Pakistan Air Force inside their territory, almost 7 km from the LOC, and repatriated on 1 March 2019. An Indian student, Tejas Bhardwaj, one of the protesters, told about the disgusting incident and appealed to PM Modi to create international pressure and take action against the Pakistani officer.
