On being asked about the prevailing tensions between both countries following the attack in Kashmir, Trump emphasized his close ties. He said, “I am very close to India, and I’m very close to Pakistan. They’ve had that fight for a 1000 years in Kashmir. The fight has been ongoing for a thousand years, probably longer, and it was a bad one yesterday, that (terrorist attack) was a bad one, over 30 people.”

Trump On Long-Standing Conflict Over Kashmir
Again, on the long-standing conflict over Kashmir, the US president responded by stating that tensions continued on the region’s border for 1,500 years, and he is sure that the countries will resolve the situation on their own. He added, “I know both leaders, there’s great tension between Pakistan and India, but there always has been.”
US President Condemned Pahalgam Attack On X
Trump’s statements come a few days after he called PM Modi and assured that the United States stands with India in its fight against terrorism and offered all possible support. In a post on X, Trump wrote, “Deeply disturbing news out of Kashmir. The United States stands strong with India against Terrorism. We pray for the souls of those lost and for the recovery of the injured. Prime Minister Modi and the incredible people of India have our full support and deepest sympathies.
