In its latest verdict, a US court has scripted history by convicting a parent for the crime her child has committed. The state that terribly needs a stringent arms act, the state where guns in the hands of teenagers are as common as balloons has for the first time drawn a line that raises many brows.
Jennifer Crumbley, a 45-year-old lady has become the talk of the town for a crime she didn’t actually commit. However, the court has emphasized her responsibility as a mother and convicted her for the mass shooting done by her son Ethan in November 2021.
Jennifer Crumbley, 45, is the first US parent convicted of manslaughter over a mass shooting carried out by their child.
Her son, Ethan, 15, was sentenced to life in prison for killing 4 of his classmates at Oxford High School in 2021.

Ethan Crumbley is a 17-year-old who went on a shooting spree on November 30, 2021, in his school. He was then 15 and had killed four of his classmates while many were injured. Where did the gun come from? It was gifted by his father a day after Thanksgiving Day. So it was obviously the father who somehow endorsed the provocation by gifting his teenage child arms. He too will be trialed in March.
The mother, Jennifer, says that she has been unfairly blamed as she wasn’t in support of her son getting a gun. She straightaway mentioned her husband for this blunder.

The prosecutors argued that Jennifer failed as a parent and little responsibility from her side could have prevented this incident. They also said that the ammunition could have been locked or the school should have been informed about their child bringing a gun to the school to avoid this crime.
