New Delhi: China skipped a G20 Meeting held in Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday. The meeting was attended by over 100 foreign diplomats, including the United States.
All the delegates also visited the local legislative assembly. China does not recognize India’s sovereignty over Arunachal and claims it as a part of South Tibet.
“There was no delegation from China. Around 100 delegates, representing G20 Countries visited Itanagar on Saturday for a two-day meeting,” An official said.

The event in Arunachal was Part of the 200 scheduled meetings in over 50 major cities across India. The theme of the G20 meeting in Itanagar was ‘Research innovation initiative gathering.
