Al-Zawahiri Death: Al Qaeda chief Ayman Mohammed Rabie al-Zawahiri has been killed in a US drone attack. US President Joe Biden has confirmed the death of al-Zawahiri.
Joe Biden has claimed that al-Zawahiri was killed in a drone strike in Kabul at 6.18 am on Sunday. The Taliban’s reaction after al-Zawahiri’s death has come to the fore.
The Afghan government led by the Taliban has condemned the US action. Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahidi criticized the attack.

A Taliban spokesman issued a statement saying, “The attack took place on Sunday. It is a violation of international principles. This is also a violation of the agreement reached in 2020 regarding the withdrawal of troops by the US military.”
Al-Zawahiri killed in CIA drone attack
It is being said that al-Zawahiri had taken refuge in Kabul. The US killed al-Zawahiri by carrying out a covert operation. Two missiles were used to kill the Al-Qaeda leader.
Al-Zawahiri had taken charge of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda in the year 2011 after the killing of al-Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden.

Justice has been done: Joe Biden
US President Joe Biden has issued a statement after al-Zawahiri’s death.
“On my instructions, the US military successfully conducted an airstrike in Kabul, Afghanistan, and killed al-Zawahiri,” the US president said.
Joe Biden went on to say that justice has been served to the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
“Justice has been delivered and this terrorist leader is no more. We never back down,” Joe Biden said.
“No matter how long it takes, no matter where you hide. If you are a threat to our people, America will find you. Al-Zawahiri was Osama bin Laden’s deputy at the time of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Zawahiri was also deeply involved in the planning of 9/11,” he added.
