Taipei: A 5.0-magnitude earthquake jolted waters off the Taitung County, Taiwan, at 9:47 am on Sunday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 22.44 degrees north latitude and 121.10 degrees east longitude. The earthquake struck at a depth of 10 km, the center said, as reported by news agency Xinhua.
Earthquake of 7.1 magnitude hits Tonga
An earthquake measuring 7.1 on the Richter Scale struck the country of Tonga on Friday (Nov 11).
According to the US Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake was 10 km (six miles) deep and about 200 km southeast of Neiafu. The town is located in the northeast direction from the Pacific archipelago nation.
