New York: A tragic incident unfolded on a bustling street in Midtown Manhattan, where a New York City taxi driver endured a vicious beating at the hands of five individuals. The distressing attack, captured on camera, has sparked outrage on social media, with users condemning the assailants’ behavior.

In the appalling footage, three women and two men 5 were seen relentlessly assaulting the 60-year-old cab driver, using their shoes and fists as weapons near the intersection of Sixth Avenue and W 34th Street, as reported by New York Post.

Despite his attempts to defend himself and retrieve an item from the ground, the onslaught persisted. The driver eventually lost his balance and collapsed against the side of his cab, while one of the women continued the attack with kicks and punches, all witnessed by onlookers who did not intervene.

The injured driver was later taken by ambulance to New York University Hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition. Police revealed that the incident occurred following an argument between the driver and the assailants.

The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers (NYSFTD) expressed outrage and demanded justice for the driver, stating that such brutal assaults on hardworking drivers must stop. They referenced a tragic incident from the past, involving the killing of another taxi driver, Kutin Gyimah, in Queens last year.
