TVS iQube ST Electric Scooter Vs Rivals: TVS recently launched the top-spec ST variant of its electric scooter iQube. All the features like a 7-inch touchscreen and more have finally hit the market. TVS seems to have gone too far on the battery front and offers India’s largest battery for any electric scooter. The TVS iQube ST takes on the top variant electric scooters from brands like Ola, Chetak, Ather, Simple, Vida. Here is how the iQube ST stacks up against the top-end variants of its competitors:
TVS iQube ST Vs Rivals
In terms of capacity, the 5.1 kWh battery on the TVS iQube ST is the largest ever installed on an electric scooter in India. However, the claimed range is just 150 km despite the large battery. The pric tag of Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom) is a little higher considering all that it offers.
With a claimed range of 212 km, the Simple One is hard to beat. This claimed range could be closer to reality since Simple One has a large 5 kWh battery. For practical purposes, it is a combination of a larger fixed battery and a smaller removable battery. In terms of sales, Simple Energy does not make a significant impact and is overshadowed by almost all known and unknown 2W electric brands. It is priced reasonably at Rs 1.66 lakh.
The Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 packs a 4 kWh battery, but looks like the optimisation has allowed it to achieve a claimed range of 195 km on a single charge. What all it offers at a price tag of Rs 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom) makes it a value for money champion. It is also the most efficient scooter, with greater power and top speed.

Chetak offers the smallest battery and lowest range
Hero MotoCorp’s foray into 2W electric mobility has been dominated by the Vida sub-brand. The company’s flagship, Vida V1 Pro, has two replaceable batteries with a total capacity of 3.94 kWh and promises a range of 165 km on a full charge. It is priced at Rs 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Ather 450 Apex carries a price tag of Rs 1.95 lakh (ex-shworoo). It is not clear whether the Ather 450 Apex benefits from a Pro Pack in addition. If this is the case, prices will rise further. Well, Ather does not offer the best numbers in almost all features. But they depend largely on dynamics and overdeveloped batteries. The aluminum frame and new Magic Twist throttle certainly contributes.
Bajaj’s Chetak Premium electric scooter carries a price tag of Rs 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom), which appears to include the optional package with additional features. Chetak seems to be the only one quoting the ex-showroom price instead of the effective ex-showroom price. Chetak’s 3.2 kWh battery is the smallest among the lot and offers the shortest range at 126 km.
