Train journeys are long and it’s not possible for all of us to get a home-cooked meal every time we travel. So most of us end up ordering food available on trains and those who have ever ordered know by heart how delicious it is. For all those who wish to remain deprived of that bland food, there’s good news for you from Zomato!

Zomato food delivery on train

Zomato, India’s biggest food delivery service, is now serving on trains at over a hundred railway stations. Thanks to its partnership with IRCTC, passengers can now choose from a set of restaurants and meals they wish to eat. With options like any normal Zomato delivery service, the app has come up with a new feature where a passenger can receive meals directly at their seat.

The good part is that this feature has been active since before and the food delivery app has already served 10 lakh orders on trains. The founder and owner of Zomato and Blinkit, Deepinder Goyal, recently posted on X to update his followers on the same. He wrote, “Update: @zomato now delivers food directly to your train coach at over 100 railway stations, thanks to our partnership with @IRCTCofficial . We’ve already served 10 lakh orders on trains. Try it on your next journey!”

Order from a restaurant of your choice

If the customers think, it would be like the normal food order and because it is on a train, one would be engrossed in tracking food until it arrives, there’s another relief for them. Nobody has to waste the journey in keeping track of the order. Instead, Zomato has different options for travellers, all you need is a confirmed ticket. See how you can order your food on wheels.

  1. Open the Zomato app on your phone and search for ‘train’ in the search bar.
  2. It will ask you to enter your PNR number, enter it and proceed.
  3. You will now see a list of restaurants to order from.
  4. Select the restaurant and the delivery station as per your choice.
  5. Choose the meal and place your order by making the payment.
  6. Your order has been placed. You will receive it at the choice of your railway station.
