In India, different places have different marriage traditions. However, such marriage rituals are performed in some places, which is surprising to learn about. The bride is married without the groom in a tribal society. The groom’s younger sister fights him for seven rounds. It may appear strange to read, but it is true. This tradition is still followed there today.

In these three villages, groom does not perform rituals

This strange tradition is carried out in three villages in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Surkheda, Sanada, and Ambala are the names of the villages. The groom’s younger sister leads the procession to the groom’s brother’s home and delivers the bride. The wedding preparations take place in the same way that they do in other places. All marriage rituals are performed in the same manner as they are everywhere. However, instead of the groom, his younger sister performs these rituals.

Groom dresses up, but his sister leads procession

The groom wears a sherwani and a safa before leaving the procession. He also brings his traditional sword with him. However, he does not leave the house. He lives with his mother at home. At the same time, her younger sister arrives with a wedding procession to pick up the bride. The procession is greeted at the bride’s residence. The bride goes through seven rounds with her sister. Then there’s goodbye. The bride is brought home by the sister, who hands her over to the brother. Following that, some rituals are performed here.

No obstacles in married life

It is believed that if the groom goes to get married, his marriage will not be successful. People claim that if some people tried to marry outside of this tradition, their marriage would be fraught with difficulties. Following that, people continued to follow the long-standing tradition. The family relationship strengthens so that there is no discord between the couple.
