Ottawa: A Canadian news anchor during a live broadcast while delivering a segment on Pakistan floods accidentally swallowed a fly and the video of it has now gone viral with people appreciating her for being professional about it.

Sharing a clip about the incident on Twitter, Farah Nasser, anchor of Canada’s Global News, wrote:

“Sharing because we all need a laugh these days. Turns out it’s not just
@fordnation, I swallowed a fly on air today. (Very much a first world problem given the story I’m introducing).”

However, in an interview later, she took Entertainment Tonight Canada hosts Cheryl Hickey and Dallas Dixon through the events.

“I saw the fly flying around at the beginning of the news and…. And I was like not today, fly! Get away, not today. I’m like ‘I’m not gonna let you distract me’,” Nasser recalled.

In reply to Nasser’s tweet, users praised her for handling the situation professionally. One user wrote, “Farah, you are a great anchor and it showed. What composure! I do not want to think of what would have happened had that been me instead. Ugh!”

While one of her friends commented and said, “Farah, I’m dying. Thank you for this. Lmao.” Farah wittily tweeted back and wrote “Glad to be of service friend.”

Another user said: Global provides snacks to its anchors. Sweet deal!
