Viral Video: A recent disturbing video, reportedly from Woorabinda in Australia, has left the netizens in splits. The now-viral clip features a few children using a dead snake as a skipping rope. They can be seen giggling and jumping over the snake while an adult supervises them. According to reports, the video was captured in an area located nearly 2 hours away from Rockhampton in Central Queensland.

As you watch them play, a sound believed to be that of an adult woman is heard coming from the background. She asks the children, “Show me that. Show me what it is.” A boy comments that the snake is a black-headed python, however, it remains unclear if it was already dead or not before they start playing with it.

NDTV quoted the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals as saying, “The killing or injuring of native animals should be reported to the Department of the Environment, Science, Tourism and Innovation or the RSPCA.”

The viral video has sparked a debate on social media, with many users condemning the incident while some laughed over it. A user said, “As long as they eat it afterward, it’s probably just tenderising the meat.” Another said, “And I bet they’re the ones who killed it,” while a third commented, “Playing with their food.”

However, a section of the netizens seemed quite offended by the incident. A user said, “Protected species under Nature Conservation Act (1992). But nothing will happen to these shits.” Another commented, “And why is this okay?” Meanwhile, a third wrote, “culture.”
