A Calgary-based Canadian art student has discovered a simple method for avoiding costly Vancouver rent. Twice a week, he takes a flight from Calgary to Vancouver. The approximate cost of each round-trip airfare is $150, which equates to a monthly expenditure of nearly $1200 (about Rs 1 lakh). On the internet, the video of his chat with News Vancouver, a local news channel, is becoming extremely popular.
The student said in the video that his monthly rent expenses in Vancouver would come to almost $25,000. Nevertheless, he only pays $150 for round-trip airfare when he chooses to fly twice a week, taking an hour-long flight from Calgary to Vancouver. In the video, the student stated, “This is half the average rent for a one-bedroom in the city.”
People Started Giving Reactions To The Trending Video
As soon as the video went viral, people started giving reactions to it. Some of them supported the student’s choice, while others voiced criticism. ‘An hour’s journey is not too horrible,’ said one user. However, making frequent trips to the airport would be pointless. “Domestic flights from Calgary get canceled all the time due to weather,” another user commented.
