Bengaluru is a city where people are constantly seeking opportunities to enhance their wealth, and why wouldn’t they? After all, it’s the Silicon Valley of India. This quest for entrepreneurial success was vividly illustrated in a recent incident involving a woman who received a business proposition from an investor solely based on her impressive Bumble dating profile.

The story revolves around Eepsita Gupta, an active Bumble user, who shared a screenshot on social media revealing an investor’s unexpected approach. In their conversation, the investor proposed a novel idea to Gupta – monetizing her popular Bumble profile.

At first, Gupta couldn’t help but wonder if this was an exaggeration. However, the conversation quickly took a more serious turn when the investor outlined his proposal in detail. He suggested that Gupta include a promotional line for his investment fund on her Bumble profile and encourage startup founders to reach out to him if they were seeking funding. In return, if any of these startups received investment from him, Gupta would receive a percentage of the carried interest earned from those companies.

Gupta’s initial reaction was disbelief, responding with a hearty “Hahaha what.” However, the investor persisted, affirming that he was genuinely interested in this unique proposition.

Intrigued and amused by the unconventional proposal, Gupta took to social media to share her astonishment. She captioned her post with humour, “Ya girl is being offered carry because of her Bumble reach. If this isn’t @peakbengaluru, I really don’t know what is.”

The post quickly went viral, drawing reactions from various quarters. Some users speculated that this might be a common approach to impress Bumble users, while others humorously likened it to selling cricket bats in a baseball shop.
