A multimillionaire in China concealed his vast wealth from his son until the child completed his university education. Zhang Zilong, the son, was unaware that his father, Zhang Yudong, is the mastermind behind the successful Hunan spicy gluten snack brand Mala Prince, generating an annual revenue of 600 million yuan (equivalent to Rs 6,92,66,54,358).

In an interview with Jiupai News, Zhang Zilong revealed that his father deliberately lied to him about their true wealth for the initial two decades of his life, motivating him to strive for success. Despite being familiar with his father’s renowned brand, Zhang was informed that his family had a lot of debt to sustain the company’s operations.
Zhang Zilong recounted that he was raised in a modest apartment in Pingjiang County and gained admission to a reputed school based solely on his merit, without any assistance from his family’s connections. Upon completing his university studies, he aspired to secure a stable job paying around 6,000 yuan (US$800) per month, intending to gradually assist his family in repaying their debts. However, his father disclosed the family’s true wealth during his graduation ceremony, revealing to him that they were quite affluent.
Family shifts to a house worth Millions
They relocated to a newly constructed villa valued at 10 million yuan (US$1.4 million). Zilong has commenced employment in the e-commerce division of his father’s enterprise and aims to facilitate the company’s transition to public trading and expansion into global markets.
Concurrently, his father specified that he would contemplate passing on the company to him solely based on his performance.
The captivating narrative has captivated social media users, gaining a lot of reactions. Some remain skeptical, dismissing it as a mere “fairy tale,” while others acknowledge its veracity.
