The student designers’ collections were presented on the ramp by models in front of notable figures from the fashion industry, and the crowd was quite appreciative of the presentation. The event was Poornima Trends 2023, an annual fashion show put on by the Faculty of Design and Arts at Poornima University (PU), Jaipur. The sixth iteration of the fashion show featured designer clothing made by university graduates as well as second- and third-year students.

Rajasthan MP Diya Kumari was the chief guest, while designer Manvendra Singh Shekhawat and designer Felix Bendish were the guest of honors of this event. The concert was opened by lighting a lamp by visitors and advisor Renu Singhi, president Dr. Suresh Chandra Padhy, and co-founder Rahul Singhi of Poornima University. MP Diya Kumari instructed the design department’s students to incorporate aspects of Indian culture into all of their artwork and crafts in order to show a little bit of India in their creations.

Rajsamand The event’s honorable guests were fashion designers Manvendra Singh Shekhawat and Felix Bendish, with MP Diya Kumari serving as the chief guest.

Following the opening, the student collections were shown in 16 sequences that were inspired by different aspects of the exhibition, such as Heaven and Heart, Fluent Fondness, Dream Reality, Perfect Imperfections, The Neo Pop, New Classic, and Illogical Logical, among others. In The Beauty’s Curse segment, women are empowered by transforming their suffering into strength through cage-shaped designer clothing, and in The Mirror of Reality sequence, transgender acceptance in society is demonstrated.

The main draw of the show was a special segment called “Molela & Tarkashi,” in which models displayed an ethnic clothing line featuring Dabu, Batik, Indigo, and other local patterns created by Rajasthani artists who have won national and provincial awards. This sequence contained the ethnic attire of Awdesh Kumar, Abdul Rahuf, Digambar Prasad Medatwal, Khushi Ram Panday, Laxmi Chandra Piliya, Naseruddin, Sabir Nilgar, and Mohamad Saqib. Awards for the Most Creative Collection, Best Social Awareness Concept, and Best Ready to Wear Collection were given out following the fashion presentation.
