On Monday night in the Spanish city of Alicante, during a monologue by Jaime Caravaca, a man punched the comedian in the face, allegedly provoked by “offensive” and “sexualized” remarks regarding his three-month-old baby. Caravaca released a statement on the incident after the altercation.
In a Twitter post, he stated, ‘After the incident, I acknowledge that what I intended as a joke turned out to be an unfortunate and inappropriate comment on my part.’ The comedian further apologized to anyone offended, urging to set aside violence and create a conducive environment for people to grow freely.

Alberto continued by stating his support for the right to defend oneself, similar to his support for freedom of speech. He also mentioned that he harbored no malicious intentions against the comic and emphasized, ‘Children are sacred. All the best.’
Pugilato was alluding to Caravaca’s hard-left social media statements rather than a joke delivered by the comic on set.
The on-stage brawl broke out when Caravaca reacted to a photo of Pugilato’s baby son, posted on X with the text, ‘Pride and joy.’ According to a since-deleted post, Caravaca said there was no way to stop Pugilato’s son from being ‘gay’ in the future and included other explicit remarks.
After Caravaca made comments about his three-month-old child, Pugilato responded that he would make him apologize and added, ‘You will discover that real life is not Twitter.’
According to Marca, the Spanish newspaper, following his warning, Pugilato was captured on camera lunging onto the stage and striking Caravaca in the face, reportedly saying, ‘Say those paedophilic comments about my son to my face, you piece of trash, now!’
In the aftermath of the incident, Pugilato expressed his concerns on MultiCanal Radio, stating that he was extremely worried and had never experienced such an ‘unpleasant’ emotion.
According to the report, police were called to the location, but the comedian chose not to report anything, resulting in no arrests being made.
