New Delhi: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India announced that it is voluntarily recalling some units of its 2022 model year CB300R bike on Saturday. The company stated that it has found that there was some defect in the manufacturing process of the right crankcase cover of the engine, due to which, there is a possibility of the sealing plug being dislodged due to the low retention force due to the heat of the engine.
This can cause the sealing plug to come out and engine oil to leak. In the worst case, the oil on the hot parts of the motorcycle could cause a fire, cause skidding when it comes in contact with the tyres, or cause injury to the rider due to its hot temperature.
As a precautionary measure, the affected parts will be replaced at BigWing dealerships across India from 15th April 2023. The company will replace the defective part free of cost even if the vehicle’s warranty has expired.
The ex-showroom price of Honda CB300R in Delhi is Rs 2.77 lakh. The CB300R is available in two color options – Matte Steel Black and Pearl Spartan Red. The CB300R is positioned above the CB300F in Honda’s line-up.
