New Delhi: An ‘accident’ happened with a container (truck) carrying crores of rupees of cash from the Reserve Bank of India via truck from Chennai to Villupuram. It is being told that after the information about the ‘accident’ with the truck, the policemen who were walking along started getting flustered. After this, the officials were informed, after which 17 policemen were sent to the spot to protect the truck. All 17 police officers got involved in protecting the trucks on the National Highway.
According to information, Rs 1,070 crore in cash was being carried through two containers. Meanwhile, a technical fault occurred in a container at Tambaram in Chennai. According to the information, the truck that had a technical fault had Rs 535 crore in it.
The police had called for security after the truck broke down. He told me that cash was sent from the Chennai RBI office to Villupuram through two containers to give cash to banks in the district. Meanwhile, after a truck broke down in Tambaram, he was taken to the National Institute of Siddha in Tambaram.
Tambaram’s assistant commissioner, Srinivasan, reached the spot with a team and found fault with the truck.
