The world witnessed Valentine Week from 7th February and ended on 14th February. Each day in this week is dedicated to some unique thing, like kiss day, chocolate day and others.
A new record has been created for kissing their partner this valentine by making a record the longest habanero pepper kiss of all time. The record has been going for almost 10 years now.
It’s changed hands a few times, and the length of time people have been able to lock lips after scoffing one of the world’s hottest peppers has increased dramatically. A habanero pepper has a Scoville Heat Units (SHU) rating of 100,000-350,000 and a jalapeño is around 3,000 to 8,000 SHU.

To claim this record title, two people are required to consume a habanero chilli pepper before holding a kiss with each other for as long as they can before the need to down a jug of water takes over.
It was first set way back in 2016 on the set of US reality show Bachelor in Paradise.
Contestants Carly Waddell and Evan Bass (both USA) held a pepper kiss for 1 min 41 sec.
The record holders got engaged on the show and later married and welcomed two kids together before announcing their separation in 2020.
Their record stood for a number of years before being broken in 2021 by Lance Michael Rich and Matthew Clint Burnham (both USA) with a total time of 3 min 36.86 sec.

In 2023, the title was taken by serial record breaker Mike Jack and his wife and coach Jamie Jack (both Canada).
Mike has broken records by eating hot sauce and Carolina Reaper Peppers, so this sort of record attempt is an everyday thing to him.
Mike and Jamie smashed the previous record with a time of 15 min 6.50 sec.
And to make it even more special, they attempted the record on the 17th anniversary of their very first date.
But the couple have now lost the title to another serial record breaker, Andre Ortolf and his friend Jenny Springer (both Germany).
