Nanital: Bride Succumbs To Heart Attack While Dancing On Mehndi ceremony

In Nainital, Delhi bride Shreya Jain tragically collapsed and died while dancing at her destination wedding. The 28-year-old MBA graduate suffered a fatal heart attack during the mehndi ceremony at Parichay Resort. Despite efforts to revive her for over an hour at Bhimtal Community Health Centre, she couldn't be saved.

During her wedding celebrations in Nainital, a bride from Delhi, Shreya Jain, tragically collapsed and passed away while dancing. She was set to marry a man from Lucknow, and their families had gathered at a resort for the destination wedding. The 28-year-old suffered a fatal heart attack during the mehndi ceremony.

As reported, the incident occurred on Saturday evening while Shreya was performing a dance on stage. Suddenly, she collapsed unconscious. Her family quickly arranged for medical assistance. However, according to a Republic report, despite doctors’ efforts to revive her for nearly an hour and a half at the hospital, she was later declared deceased.

Dr. Sanjay Jain, a pediatrician and owner of Shreya Specialist Polyclinic in Dwarka, Delhi, spoke to the Times of India, expressing his sorrow: “My daughter had completed her MBA after BTech and was eagerly looking forward to her wedding. The groom is employed at an IT company in Lucknow.”

Inspector Jagdeep Negi, the SHO of Bhimtal, added that the bride’s father had booked the upscale Parichay Resort operated by the Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) for his daughter’s destination wedding.

According to the SHO’s statement to the publication, ‘The wedding was scheduled for Sunday, with the mehndi ceremony taking place on Saturday evening. Unfortunately, she collapsed while dancing. Doctors at Bhimtal Community Health Centre indicated that she likely passed away due to cardiopulmonary complications.’

He added that the family of the deceased wanted no further legal action and had her cremated. Her last rites were held in Kathgodam before the family returned to Delhi.

Last year in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar, a tragic incident unfolded during wedding rituals when the bride, Hetal, suffered a fatal heart attack near the Bhagwaneshwar Mahadev Temple. She collapsed during the ceremony due to discomfort.

Despite efforts to rush her to a nearby hospital, doctors confirmed her passing from a heart attack. In an unexpected turn, amidst the family’s mourning, relatives gathered and proposed that the groom marry Hetal’s younger sister. Following the funeral rites, the family agreed to this proposal.
