Manipur women video: Manipur Police arrested one more accused in women video incident which evoked rage and anger among the people across the country. He is the fifth accused and identified as Yumlembam Nungsithoi Metei. He is 19-year-old, police informed.

As of now, the Police have arrested total five accused in the henious incident, im which two women were paraded nude and later expolited physically.

Two Kuki women were paraded nude, assualted and gangraped by a mob in the violence-hit Manipur. The incident took place at B phainam Village on May 4. At 3 pm 800-1000 miscreants carrying weapons had entered the B Phainom village in Kangpokpi district.

The state police held all four accused, including the prime one Huirem Herodas by Thursday. Herodas can be seen in the 26-seconds-long clip groping the stripped woman inappropriately. Apart from this, 12 other accused from the video have been marked and efforts are being made to nab those as well.

As many as 12 combined teams of Manipur police and Central forces are occupied in the case to catch other accused. As per the police, Herodas provoked the crowd to take out the procession with the victims.

The video emerged this week and sent shockwaves throughout the nation, in which girls from Kuki community were forced to strip her clothes by armed men. As per a report by the Indian Express, one of the victims alleged that the police were with the mob who let the latter take away the girls.

The Manipur police earlier posted a tweet and said, “A case of abduction, gang-rape and murder was filed at Nongpok Sekmai police station (Thoubal district) in a case relating to the viral videos of two women paraded without clothes by unknown armed miscreants on May 4. Probe is on.”
