Srinagar: Three terrorists killed on Tuesday after am encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Khandipora, Awantipora area of Pulwama district.

Police earlier informed that an encounter started at Khandipora, Awantipora area of Pulwama district following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.

“Awantipora Police & Army (55 RR) are on the job,” police had said.

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Vijay Kumar said that three terrorists have been killed in Awantipora encounter and the identification of the deceased is being ascertained.

“As per our source, 1 is FT & 1 local terrorist of LeT namely Mukhtiyar Bhat, involved in several terror crimes including killing of 01 ASI of CRPF & 2 RPF personnel,” he added.
