Assembly Elections: Haryana To Vote In Single Phase On October 1, Results On October 4

20 million people will be able to vote across Haryana on October 1.

Haryana: Excitement builds as Haryana gears up to elect the new state government on  October 1 in a single phase. The results for the 90 seats in the Haryana Assembly Elections will be out on October 4, the Election Commission announced on Friday. Four parties- BJP, Congress, JJP and AAP  is most likely to contest each other in the state elections.

No of polling stations announced

Jammu & Kashmir is also set to vote and its results will be out alongside Haryana. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that a total of 20,629 polling stations will be created for the upcoming Haryana elections. 20 million people will be able to vote- 7,132 stations in urban areas and 13,497 in rural areas.

BJP won 40 seats in 2019 Haryana assembly elections and formed a successful coalition government with Dushyant Chautala’s Jannayak Janta Party (JJP). JJP holds 10 seats out of the 90-member Haryana assembly. The BJP-JJP alliance, however dissolved in this year’s start.

The ruling BJP’s focus is likely to be centered on highlighting Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and former CM Manohar Lal Khattar’s clear picture in the state. In contrast, the Congress is also batting for power in Haryana Assembly Elections. Nation may witness a clash between all the parties rooting for Haryana this year.

Bonus for Farmers

Hours before the official announcement of the polling date in Haryana, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini disbursed the first installment of a bonus for 5.20 lakh farmers in Haryana. He also unveiled his other plans like establishment of veterinary polyclinics in eight districts in Haryana, commencement of ₹3 lakh insurance cover for dairy farmers with earns below ₹3 lakh annually.

Back in June, Amit Shah has announced BJP’s plan of not forming alliance with opposition parties and going solo for all the 90 seats in Haryana.
