WhatsApp comes up with ‘Message yourself’ feature, know how to use it

WhatsApp: The launch of the “Message Yourself” feature was unveiled on Monday by the Meta-owned instant messaging service WhatsApp. According to a statement from the company, it is a 1:1 chat with you that you may use to send notes, reminders, and updates as needed.

With this function, WhatsApp users may manage their to-do lists and send notes, reminders, shopping lists, and other types of messages to themselves, The Business Standard reported.

Phased rollout is used for WhatsApp’s Message Yourself feature. The instant messaging app stated that it will be accessible to everyone on iOS and Android platforms in the upcoming weeks.

Sending SMS to one’s own numbers has always been possible on WhatsApp; the change merely streamlines the procedure. Users could previously message themselves via a “Click to Message” link or a WhatsApp group in which they were the only member.

To make it simpler for users to access their chat if they do not have one in the chat list, the new version places the message yourself function at the top of the contact list. In the chat list, the user’s contact will be identified as “User name (You)”.

How to use ‘Message Yourself’ feature

Step 1: Start by launching WhatsApp.

Step 2: In the lower-right corner of the screen, click the action button.

Step 3: At the top of the contact list, users can find their contact.

Step 4: Click the contact to initiate a message.

Users will benefit from this new feature in a variety of ways. Users might not need to download a special app if they use it to take notes and bookmark links for later use. Due to WhatsApp’s multi-device compatibility, moving files, contacts, and other data from one smartphone to another will be made easier.
