Bharti Airtel is working on a new internet technology. This technology belongs to Google’s parent company Alphabet, where internet is delivered without the need for traditional infrastructure like towers or satellites. It utilizes laser beams to provide 4G and 5G internet to remote areas. Airtel refers to this technology as “Taara.”

Bharti Airtel is currently in the testing phase for implementing laser beam technology in India, and it could potentially be launched in the country soon. According to reports, Sunil Mittal, the head of Bharti Airtel, is not very confident about the use of this technology, as mentioned in an ET report.

This technology, using laser beam instead of traditional towers, enables internet access over longer distances than mobile towers. It is a high-speed internet technology, offering a maximum speed of up to 20 Gbps. It is a cost-effective wireless internet connectivity. The “Taara” laser beam internet technology has been developed by Alphabet Innovation Lab, based in California, also known as X. Airtel is testing how the laser beam technology performs in adverse weather conditions
