New Delhi: WhatsApp has finally begun to introduce the ‘Keep in Chat feature’ to all users across the world after testing it for a while. The feature can be used on Android and iOS WhatsApp versions. This feature can save chats and prevent it from being removed or deleted. These are the steps on how this feature can be used:

  • First of all this feature is not available on the latest version of WhatsApp. So your WhatsApp need to be updated before proceeding with further steps.
  • This feature is an extension of disappeared chats so you have to enable ‘Disappearing Messages’ for a chat.
  • Also, the sender of the message can unkeep a message that you have saved.
  • Once the sender has chosen the ‘unkeep’ option, the message will be disappeared from the bookmark from your smartphone and you won’t be able to save it again.

Steps to save a message using Keep in Chat feature on WhatsApp

  • Open the updated WhatsApp app on your phone
  • Now, navigate to any chat which has Disappearing Message turned on
  • Then, scroll through the chat and find the chat that you want to save
  • Long-press on it to get the options at the top and select the bookmark icon at the top, placed besides the Delete icon
  • The chat will be then bookmarked and display a bookmark icon on it.
