The OnePlus 12, an upcoming mobile phone, will boast a remarkable 2K resolution display. OnePlus took to Weibo to announce that the OnePlus 12 will be the world’s first smartphone to feature a DisplayMate A+ rated X1 ‘Oriental Screen’ with a 2K resolution and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. This ‘Oriental Screen’ is powered by Oppo’s first-generation Display P1 chip and has garnered 18 DisplayMate A+ records, as revealed during a recent press conference, according to a report by the Chinese site ITHome.
Notably, the X1 display offers double the industry average lifespan, and it is reported that this panel enhances screen performance by 90% while reducing power consumption by 13%. The OnePlus 12 will succeed the OnePlus 11, with a design possibly reminiscent of its predecessor. Furthermore, leaks suggest that the device will be powered by the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
In the realm of photography, the OnePlus 12 is expected to feature a triple-camera setup on the rear, including a 50MP camera, a 48MP sensor, and a 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor. The device is likely to be equipped with a 5,400mAh battery, supporting 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. It is expected to run on OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14.
