New Delhi: Meta kicked off its two-day Connect 2023 conference, scheduled for September 27-28, with a keynote from CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The company has introduced other new products related to AI and VR to complement its portfolio.
The tech giant announced the third generation VR headset Meta Quest 3. It will come with Snapdragon XR 2 Gen2 along with a new AI assistant called Meta AI. You can interact with the system by saying “Hey Meta”.
The company has also launched first generation smart glasses “Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses” that also have the ability to listen and speak. Users can use these glasses to quickly broadcast live and take photos on demand.

Third generation VR headset Meta Quest 3 launched
Meta has introduced its ‘Meta Quest 3’. The next-generation virtual reality device has been launched at a starting price of Rs 41,552 for the 128GB version and Rs 52,042 for the 512 version in India. The new device will hit the market next month, starting October 10, and buyers can pre-order now.
- By double-tapping the side of the Meta Quest 3 headset, you will seamlessly switch between a fully immersive experience or a mixed environment with virtual elements overlaid on your physical surroundings.
- The headset is equipped with the new Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 for a smooth gaming experience. It has a 30-inch resolution with a 4K+ infinity display.
First generation Ray-Ban
- Meta smart glasses Meta has launched the new generation of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, which are now available for pre-order.
- The new glasses allow users to go live on Facebook or Instagram and use “Hey Meta” to interact with Meta AI, an advanced conversational assistant, using just your voice. The glasses start at around Rs 25,000 and can be ordered from Meta.com and ray-ban.com.
- The smart glasses will be available to purchase online and in retail stores starting October 17. It offers a new 12 MP ultra-wide camera that allows 1080p video recording of up to 60 seconds. You can even share photos with friends and family directly from your glasses with a simple “send photo” voice command.
Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are powered by the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 platform, enabling higher quality photo and video processing and faster computing. And the glasses come with a sleek, redesigned charging case that can hold up to eight additional charges (for a total of 36 hours of use) while being thinner and even smaller.
