Apple has been arduously working on a new model of the iPhone 17 – the iPhone Air. But a recent update has revealed a new detail that forecasts the jeopardy that the Apple might run Into with the new phone. The forecast that has been elucidated by Mark Gruman, in his news letter Power On revealed that the model is highly unlikely to set any significant sales records. And thanks to the extensive price tag of the air, most users would still gravitate towards the Apple iPhone Pro.
As per the information in the news letter- each one of the models in the line up has specific features that make them a worthy choice for users. The Basic Phone sells for the reduced price, while the pro model sells because of its added features and the pro max sells for its size and the fourth model often finds it hard to be a relevant choice ( based on previous sales experiences). Apple has been struggling with such issues for a while and hence they have aimed to give the fourth phone a unique form factor. As per the leaks the iPhone 17 air is an extremely slim phone even by modern standards. The phone would be significantly more expensive than the Plus Model That it would replace.
Mark Gruman’s prediction
Mark Gruman believes, that the Air would still lose to the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. iPhone 17 pro Max would be able to garner better sales figures than that of the iPhone 17 pro and the Pro Max. Although the air would be able to get better sales than the older Mini models, it would fail against the pro and plus models. In the long run- it’s possible that the phone might be able to gather a cult popularity for itself.
Apple, is not the only company that is trying their hand at the slim form-factor, Samsung is also planning to launch a new Galaxy S25 Edge later this year. Samsung might launch the new S25 Edge before the iPhone 17 Air. Would the new phones be able to command an extensive demand for themselves or would be ignored thanks to their puny batteries only time would tell.
