Apple typically launches its iPhone series in September each year and you must have noticed this pattern for several years. With September still away, the iPhone 16 series has already started generating a big buzz. While enthusiasts eagerly await its release, it will be interesting to see what Apple has in store for the buyers. However, leaks and rumours have been doing rounds about the potential upgrades and features and what we can expect from Apple. We bring you a roundup of all the rumours and leaks associated with the upcoming iPhone 16 series.

Design

There won’t be significant changes on the iPhone 16 series models in terms of size. However, the pro versions are expected to get bigger display size. Notable changes include new features like the Capture Button for photos and videos, while the Action Button will be expanded across all models.

Battery

If Tipster Baby Baby Sauce on Weibo is to be believed, the iPhone 16 is expected to get a 3,561mAh battery. This battery size is larger as compared to the 3,349mAh unit found in the iPhone 15 model. Similarly, reports claim that the iPhone 16 Plus model might come with a 4,006mAh battery, which is smaller as compared to last year model’s 4,383mAh unit.

As far as the Pro version is concerned, it is believed to have a 3,355mAh, slightly larger than the iPhone 15 Pro version’s 3,274mAh. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to get the largest 4,676mAh battery, bigger than the previous model’s 4,422mAh unit.

Camera

Users can expect enhanced photo and video capabilities as Apple is expected to offer a vertical camera layout and potentially improved lenses with the iPhone 16 lineup. Furthermore, the Pro Max model might get a Capture Button and a super telephoto periscope camera to give enhanced photography experiences.

Connectivity

Users can expect the new models to get Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X75 modem, providing for faster and more efficient 5G connectivity. The Pro models are likely to feature Wi-Fi 7 technology offering lower latency and faster transfer speeds.

AI Capabilities

If rumours are to be believed, the iPhone 16 models will exclusively get new Siri features powered by large language models. iOS 18 might also include the new ‘Safari browsing assistant’ AI feature.
