Apple enthusiasts are anxiously awaiting the release of the upcoming iPhone 16, all set to hit the market in September this year. Thanks to all the rumours and leaks, iPhone fanatics are having a field day. This usually happens around this time of the year, a few months before the official launch. However, the latest leaks have revealed some upgrades that we can expect from the upcoming smartphone series. Here are the 7 biggest ones:
1. Spatial video recording
As we all know spatial video is no longer confined to the Vision Pro as Apple offered support for recording them to the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, thanks to their camera arrangement. So, expect the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus to support spatial video recording. These videos could later be viewed on the Apple Vision Pro.
2. Thinner bezel, brighter display
One report hints that the new iPhones will feature the same 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch sizes will retain the 60Hz refresh rate. However, the bezel will reportedly be thinner. Furthermore, the report claims that Apple could adopt a MicroLED display for the upcoming devices, enhancing the brightness and colour of the display, without consuming much power.
3. New Capture button
As per rumours, Apple will add a Capture button to iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. However, it remains a mystery whether the standard models will have this feature. The Capture button will be placed beneath the power button and will ease out the process of laucnching the camera to take images.
4. A18 chip
According to rumours, Apple will adopt the 3-nanometer A18 chips for all its iPhone 16 series phones. This means that the standard models could now offer better performance with the A18 chips.

5. Generative AI
AI is reigning supreme in today’s world with several smartphone makers coming up with new such features. Apple is expected to introduce “Siri Summarization” as generative AI, which could help in connecting the brand’s voice assistant to the ChatGPT API. With this, Siri will become extra intelligent to perform various complex tasks.
6. 256GB starting storage
Now this could be considered as a much-awaited upgrade, if it is going to happen anyway. Rumour has it that Apple could offer 256GB base models for the iPhone 16. This could be coupled with an 8GB of RAM. The starting storage on the iPhone 15 is half of the aforementioned amount. This upgrade will make the smartphone better equipped considering the expected support for spatial video recording as this will help store all such files.
7. Wi-Fi 6e
The iPhone 15 Pro models are equipped with Wi-Fi 6e, however, the iPhone 15 gets Wi-Fi 6. If recent leaks are to be believed, Apple will adopt the Wi-Fi 6e for its upcoming iPhone 16 models to ensure faster speeds with 6GHz band.
