New Delhi: After losing the toss, Mumbai Indians started their inning with a bang, batter Hayley Matthews wrote down her name in the history book. The right-hand batter became the first-ever batter to smash a six in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023.

First six of the tournament

First six of the WPL from Hayley Matthews bat in the second over of the first innings. She played the pull shot over the square leg for a maximum off the first ball from Mansi Joshi.

The West Indies international opens the face of her bat on the next ball and a misfield on the third-man boundary leads to another four.

Good finish to the over though from the right-arm Indian pacer. Just two off the next four deliveries.
