With the IPl mega auction taking place next year, teams are set to have a new look, with all teams battling it out for the best players in the world. Let us take a look at how Chennai Super Kings would plan for the same and which players would they like to retain for next season.
Ruturaj Gaikwad
The first option has to be the newly appointed CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad. The opening batter has performed well for the team this season, having scored 583 runs with a high score of 108* this season. This is one name that will definitely be their in the list for the yellow outfits.
MS Dhoni/Shivam Dube
What will be interesting to see next year is whether Indian legend MS Dhoni agrees to play for another season or not in the IPl. If he agrees to do so, then that is one name that will definitely be added into the list. However, if MS Dhoni decides to call it a day, then Shivam Dube would be the favourite to get that spot.
Ravindra Jadeja
To get an Indian all-rounder like Ravindra Jadeja is a very difficult task nowadays. Having won many important matches for CSK in the past, including the IPL 2023 final, Jadeja too will be a 100% pick for the 5-time champions next year. He has been Mr. Dependable for the side and the team management knows that they can count on him in difficult times as well.
Matheesha Pathirana
Despite of Sri Lanka star pacer or ‘baby Malinga’ as teammates call him being ruled out due to injury halfway through the season, Matheesha Pathirana is a captain’s favourite bowler. Pathirana has been really influential for CSK, taking 34 wickets in just 20 IPL career matches so far with a brilliant economy of just 7.88. The numbers eventually make it evident that he will also be included in the list for next year.
