Despite India stumbling to 49-2 initially, Samson, alongside KL Rahul and Tilak Varma, orchestrated a crucial partnership that led to India’s recovery. His innings, which comprised six boundaries and three sixes, not only marked his inaugural ODI century but also laid the groundwork for India’s commanding 78-run victory, clinching the series triumph at Boland Park.
The exceptionally talented batsman from Kerala will soon make a return to competitive cricket during the upcoming IPL 2024 season. In November 2023, Samson was retained by the Rajasthan Royals franchise, and during the IPL 2024 auction held in the UAE in December, the team management augmented the squad by making additional player acquisitions.
