Northern Supercharges had only Harry Brook, who set the stadium on fire with his sensational 42 balls century. Brook also displayed his fielding masterclass at the boundary rope as his catch send back Jonny Bairstow to the pavilion. Harry Brook was the lone wolf for the Supercharges as they lost the 30th game of The Hundred 2023 by 8 wickets to Welsh Fire.
How it happens
It all happened on the 82nd ball of the match when Bairstow hit Brydon Carse over the leg side. The ball seemed to almost clear the fence at rocket speed until Brook appeared out of nowhere and hit the white leather before crossing the boundary line. Although Brook caught the ball on the second attempt, he again lost his balance and threw the ball a second time towards teammate Adam Hosea before going over the fence. Hose finished the catch comfortably and Bairstow fell short of the half-century he deserved.

The crowd was heard cheering Brook’s brilliant stunt flying catch. Hose was even seen hugging the 24-year-old excitedly after the dismissal.
Northern Supercharges fails to beat Fire
Superchargers won the toss and electing to bat first, the innings saw mixed performances. Adam Lyth and Matthew Short struggled and went away for a couple of runs. Tom Banton and other batsmen also found it difficult to make an impact.
Harry Brook steal the show
However, Harry Brook defended the team in crisis and showed great determination with excellent strike power. He charmed his way to an incredible 105 runs from just 42 balls, smashing eleven fours and seven sixes. A remarkable innings from Brook powers the Superchargers to a competitive total of 158/7.
