A number of players in the current Indian cricket team are currently facing challenges due to injuries. The team is currently without three major stars – Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Mohammed Shami. Moreover, Shardul Thakur and Prithvi Shaw are also dealing with injuries. The latest information on the players’ injuries has been shared by a cricket analyst, and this has led to uncertainty about their involvement in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL).

Pacers Still Sidelined

Towards the end of 2022, there were reports that Rishabh Pant, who had suffered a severe road accident, was sent to London for recovery from Saturday morning. Simultaneously, it has been reported that Mohammed Shami has also been advised to consult a doctor in London. Shami might travel to London with the doctor from the National Cricket Academy and former Team India physio, Nitin Patel. Furthermore, Shardul Thakur has been denied permission to participate in the Ranji Trophy due to knee problems.

On the other hand, Prithvi Shaw has been sidelined from cricket since August last year due to a ligament injury in his knee. According to recent updates, his comeback may take another month, possibly causing him to miss the ongoing Ranji Trophy. Additionally, there is uncertainty about his participation in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). Mohammed Shami has been out of action since the World Cup as well.

Their exclusion from the England series seems highly likely, as their names are not even included in the squad for the first two Tests. If they travel to London, they could be ruled out for the series until March 11. Following this, there is uncertainty surrounding their participation in IPL 2024. Then, in early May, there will be an announcement regarding the World Cup squad, making it unclear whether Shami will be fully fit for the tournament.

Regarding Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya, Surya recently shared a post-surgery picture on January 17 after undergoing a procedure in Germany. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya is consistently posting videos of his gym workouts on social media, suggesting that both players might make a comeback in the next one or two months.
