New Delhi: Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter and gave a shout out to the U19 Women’s cricket team for their triumph against England to win the first ever U19 T20 World Cup.
Indian women’s team led by batter Shefali Verma scripted the history on Sunday, in South Africa.
Praises flood for U19 girls
Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “INDIA CHAMPIONS !! Women’s U-19 world cup champions in cricket .. beat the British hands down .. khatiya khadi kar di .. INDIA.”

Actor Abhishek Bachchan shared a picture on his Instagram story and wrote, “Congratulations to our Indian women’s team on winning the U19 World Cup! super proud of each and every one of you.”
Taapsee Pannu showers love on girls
Taapsee Pannu, who played the role of former Indian women’s team captain Mithali Raj in her biopic, takes on her Instagram story and congratulated the team. She also also wished skipper Shefali Verma on her birthday. The actress posted several images and wrote, “Let’s remember the faces! We won our first World Cup in women’s cricket today.”
Actress Kajol also congratulated the team saying that, “Women In Blue” made us all proud. Ananya Panday also praised the Indian women’s squad in a tweet, writing that the squad has made us so incredibly proud by bringing home the first-ever U-19 T20 World Cup and complimenting the devotion and hard work put in by the whole team.
