New Delhi: The Test series between Pakistan and England began on Thursday in Rawalpindi. The record made by England is the highest score made in an innings on the first day. England broke the 112 year old record. Australia scored 494 runs on the first day of the Test played on 9 December 1910 in Sydney. The match was played between Australia and South Africa. However, England has now broken this record today i.e. December 1, 2022.

First day ends after 75 overs

The first day’s play was called off in 75 overs due to bad light. England have scored 506 runs at the loss of 4 wickets at the end of the first day’s play. Which is the record for the most runs scored on the first day in the history of Test cricket. Harry Brooke remains not out on 101 runs and Ben Stokes remains not out on 34 runs.
