New Delhi: BCCI Secretary Jay Shah presented the ODI World Cup 2023’s golden ticket to Tollywood superstar Rajinikanth ahead of the tournament. ‘Thaliva’ called by fans will witness the World Cup and he is the second Indian actor after actor Amitabh Bachchan with the golden ticket of the event.
The first recipient of a golden ticket was Sachin Tendulkar, who is widely regarded as the greatest batsman of all time. Other Indian icons who may receive golden tickets include MS Dhoni, Kapil Dev, and Sunil Gavaskar.
ODI World Cup 2023 will start from October 5 and the first match will be played between defending champions England and New Zealand in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
BCCI took it to the X (formerly Twitter) to make the announcement regarding presenting the ticket to the Tollywood star.
