Perth: English team had started their campaign of T20 World Cup by marking a 5-wickets win against Afghanistan. In a brilliant show of skills and dominance, English bowler Sam Curran cliched 5 wickets to restrict opponents at 112 runs.
England had bowled out Afghanistan before the end of 20 overs. Ibrahim Zadran and Usman Ghani were the highest scorers for 32 and 30 runs. Afghanistan batters couldn’t stand English bowlers and most of them returned for single digit score.

While on the other side, English batters did not need to put a lot efforts and Afghanistan was helpful for them. Afghanistan gave 12 extra runs for wide balls while Liam Livingstone helped with 29 runs.

After winning the game, Sam Surran said, “We saw the way the Afghanistan team made it quite tricky, we knew they had world-class spinners in the middle there. Nice to get the first win. Every team can beat anyone. Hopefully we take today’s confidence into Wednesday’s game and then the big one against Australia on Friday. Hopefully we can play with confidence.”
