Cricket South Africa has announced its squad for the upcoming 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, with Temba Bavuma continuing his leadership role. The team’s selection reflects their recent success, having finished as runners-up in the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 and being the first team to qualify for the World Test Championship 2025.

A significant boost to the squad is the return of fast bowlers Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi. For Nortje, this marks a significant comeback to ODI cricket – his first since September 2023, after recovering from a back stress fracture that kept him out of the 2023 World Cup. Ngidi also returns to international cricket after being sidelined with a groin injury since October 2024.
The selectors have maintained continuity by retaining two-thirds of the squad that reached the 2023 World Cup semi-finals, with 10 players keeping their spots. The squad also welcomes newcomers to ICC 50-over tournaments: Tony de Zorzi, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, and Wiaan Mulder, alongside the returning Nortje.
