New Delhi: Team India captain Rohit Sharma has admitted that there has been a big setback due to the injury of Ravindra Jadeja ahead of the T20 World Cup. After Jadeja’s exit, now Rohit Sharma has spoken openly about his option.

Rohit Sharma names Axar Patel as replacement

BCCI has included Axar Patel in the team in place of Jadeja. Rohit Sharma said that the player is also a spin bowling all-rounder like Jadeja and he can fill the gap of all-rounder Jadeja in the T20 World Cup.

Axar Patel has THESE qualities

Rohit Sharma held a press conference just before the T20 series against Australia. He said that ‘we needed an all-rounder player because Jadeja’s exit was a big blow for us. Axar Patel was always a part of our plan. They are similar players. So when Jadeja was out, apart from Axar, we didn’t see any better option. We were very clear that Patel could do that work for us.”

Rohit Sharma has told the specialty of Axar Patel. He said that if you have seen the West Indies series recently, then Akshar had won the match single-handedly while batting brilliantly. Apart from this, he can bowl in all three phases. That powerplay, middle overs and maybe an over you can bowl to him in the death overs as well.
