New Delhi: Real Madrid were the protagonists at the LaLiga Kick Off Gala, held at the Eslava Theater in Madrid. Pedro López Jiménez, vice-president of Real Madrid, represented the club in this event. Los Blancos then won the badge of La Liga champions.
LaLiga launched this two years ago as a way of further highlighting the excellence, and quality of the competition. FC Barcelona have won the title twice in 2017/18 and 2018/19.
In the next season, Ancelotti’s men will wear this gold badge on the shirt during matches in the domestic competition. Madrid will wear it for the next time when they travel to Almeria on Sunday, August 14.

La Liga’s website says, “The badge forms part of LaLiga’s corporate identity with the “heartbeat” sitting just above the LaLiga emblem on their right sleeves. Golden in colour, and with a diameter of 3.5cm, the design refers back to 2019/20, when Zinedine Zidane’s side were crowned champions once again.”

During the gala, Pedro highlighted the professionalism of the whole team, which was key to achieving the results of last season. Real had a great year with no less than three titles, the 14th European Cup, the 35th Liga and the 12th Spanish Super Cup.
Real has strengthened its hegemony in major competitions in Europe and Spain. In addition, Karim Benzema was the great offensive weapon, he who signed his best career season (44 goals) and was the top scorer in the Champions League and La Liga.
