Mohammed Shami has not played cricket since the 2023 World Cup. The bowler with the most World Cup wickets, Shami, is out with an ankle injury. At the end of the previous year, he was selected for the South Africa tour. However, he left before the season. Shami will also not be participating in the England series. He is sorely missed by Team India.
